Vesuvio Lacryma Christi Red Dop

If the white is the breath of Vesuvius, the Red is its blood.

This wine is born from a masterful encounter between strength and softness, bringing to the table the energy of a living, untamed land. Legend has it that it was born from the tears of Christ, but it is in the lava soil that it finds its unmistakable character.

The Exclusive Blend

  • 50% Piedirosso: The soul of Vesuvius. It lends the wine elegance, red fruit notes, and that mineral, savory touch typical of the region.

  • 30% Aglianico: The "Barolo of the South" provides structure, depth, and noble tannins that guarantee longevity.

  • 20% Primitivo: A touch of velvet. It brings roundness, warmth, and intense notes of ripe fruit that make every sip enveloping.

Tasting Notes

  • Color: Intense ruby red, with violet reflections that turn toward garnet with aging.

  • Bouquet: A complex nose where marasca cherry and plum meet hints of black pepper, licorice, and a smoky nuance gifted by the volcanic soil.

  • Palate: Warm, full-bodied, and harmonious. The entry is soft thanks to the Primitivo, but immediately supported by the backbone of the Aglianico and the mineral freshness of the Piedirosso.

Ideal Pairings

A red of character that calls for flavorful dishes:

  • Meats: Excellent with roast red meats, game, and traditional "braciole" in tomato sauce.

  • Tradition: The perfect companion for Neapolitan ragù or a rich lasagna.

  • Cheeses: Superb with Provolone del Monaco, aged pecorino, or spicy cured meats.

Producer's Tip: > Uncork the bottle at least 30 minutes before serving at a temperature of 18°C. Let it breathe, and it will tell you the story of the fire beneath your feet.

FROM THE VESUVIUS VINEYARD

Wines that tell a story of their land

Our vineyards grow on the volcanic soils of Mount Vesuvius: mineral-rich, dry, and exposed to the sun of the Gulf. Each bottle carries the character of this land — made of volcano, sea, and hands that have cultivated for three generations.
